Birthday Party Invites

Birthday invites are always fun and definately a lot quicker with the "Wild Card" cartridge. The first one was made for a birthday that had a Wii theme. It is meant to resemble a Wii wheel. I cut the circle card from using the wild card cartridge and then I cut the blus circle and the Wii from vinyl. For the circle I used the George cartridge.

The second one is much more bright. The colors are lime green and deep hot pink. I stamped the "You're invited" with white versamark and the used lime green embossing powder and heat embossed it. I also inked around the edges of the white cardstock and heat embossed those edges also in green embossing powder. Just click on the picture to get a closer look :). I used the "wild card" cricut cartridge on both invites. Can I just say I LOVE the wild card cartridge. It is perfect for quick cards, and it also has the envelope to match! I LOVE IT!!!!

Fun Get well card

This is a card I made for my daughters birthday party a few years ago and then I thought it would make a cute get well card. I made the ladybug by punching out 2 - 1 1/2 " circles (one black and one red). Cut the red cirle almost in half, pull it apart slightly and add to the black circle. Add brads for spots.

Note: I don't know why it looks a little blurry by the words, if you click on it you can see it better and it is clear :)

Thank you cards

These colors and patterns of these cards were inspired by a card my by amazing and talented friend, Natalie. She makes the most beautiful cards and I loved the colors so much...I made some different cards with her color scheme. Thanks Natalie...you are the best!

Happy Birthday

These cards were simple to make. I actually did about 6 colors in all, but only have pictures of 3. I used my cuttlebug and the happy birthday embossing folder. Inked the cards and added ribbon. I also did white cards inked and accented in orange, lime green and torquoise blue.
Note: I lined up the square for the present to match the background.

Princess Birthday Invite

I have not made cards for awhile, so this was especially fun. I made these for my 4 yr olds Princess Tea Party. I used the Wild Card cartridge...which is wonderful, cuts out the invite and the envelope. I embossed the invite with the cuttlebug folder Princesses. I used violet ink and inked all the edges and then tied the envelope shut with ribbon. I love purple and so does my 4 yr old.

Baptism frame w/vinyl lettering

We just had a baptism and I added some vinyl lettering to a white mat (that came with the frame). I really like how it turned out. I used two of my favorite cartridges: stone script and home accents. I got this idea from my dear friend Janae, she had seen something similar done. Thanks Janae!

Name tile

I helped a friend make some gifts for her family...they turned out good. I used the plantin schoolbook, jasmine and home accents cartridges.

Dress-up box

I made a quick and fun dress-up box with a plastic container and some vinyl lettering. It doesn't show it, but I put castles on the side. I used the stone script, paper dolls and alphalicious cartridges.

Come what may, and LOVE it!

This saying comes from a talk that Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin gave during General Conference in October. It is something his mom told him when he came home from a dissappointing football game. She told him, "Well Joseph, come what may, and love it!" It was a saying he lived by and it continues to now help us in our day! You can find the entire talk here.
This was the first tile I have ever done with vinyl. I think it turned out great! I love it...now to decide where to put it? :) But, that is always fun.

I used the Cricut and the stone script and home accents cartridges.

How to make a quick palm tree

We had a daddy/daughter party for our 8-11 year old girls and their special guy in their life.
Here is a picture of a simple way to make a palm tree. I found the idea on the internet a few years ago, but I cannot find the source.
You get an empty carpet tube. I had one and cut it in 1/2 and made 2 palm trees. You then take brown lunch sacks, cut off the bottom and put them on the tube...and scrunch them together. Makes the trunk.
The top you can do 3 different ways:
  • fake fern in the top (easiest) ~ Thank you Shelly for the use of your plants :)
  • Cut leaves from butcher paper and put a flower wire behind each leaf and then place it in the top with floral foam ..not sure if it is called that. This is great if your trees are against a wall...because you can staple or tape some of the leaves to the wall.
  • Last, take a green umbrella and put it in the top, or take the material off the umbrella and put leaves cut out of paper on the frame of the umbrella.
I have tried the first 2 and they have turned out great, inexpensive too.

Health, Peace and Sweet Content - Holiday Card

This is not my typical holiday card, but I wanted to make a card with white and blue. I started it and got the white card embossed and the blue strip done.. and then I was stuck...and then I found this sketch on another blog. And it helped me out, thank you for the sketch Robin. I also found a quote by Shakespeare that I liked it states: "Health, Peace and Sweet content be yours." I think that is very appropriate for this season and always...I wish you all, Health, Peace and sweet content. Have a happy day.

Note: I embossed the white using the dots embossing folder on the cuttlebug, Just my type embossing border on the blue, added some green ribbon and chalk.

Fall card

This is a card I made for card club last Thanksgiving. I had this gorgeous paper and I just wadded it up into a ball, about 5 times...to make it look crinkled and soft. I used cork board. a leaf brad and leaf.

Kids Dyno-mite birthday card

This card I made about a year ago and I needed to make some more, so I changed just one thing on it. The paper behind the dinosaur, I embossed with my cuttlebug and the swiss dots folder. The words I did on the computer and printed it out. The dinosaur is a sticker by Provo craft. You can find them at Roberts.

Kids birthday waterfall card

Here is used the same colors of the previous birthday card and made a waterfall card.

Kids birthday card

This was one of my favorite kids' birthday cards to make. I found these frogs at Roberts and then I cut the tags using the George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge and I used blue and green ink on the inside. I used sheer lime green and white polka dot ribbon that you can find at Michaels, Roberts and Wal-Mart.

Waterfall Cards

My sister found these on the internet and told me how fun they were to make. I agree! They are really fun to make and even more fun to give. You can find the instructions here.
As you pull the tab down...each square says something. This one says, Thank you so much.

Butterfly card

This card I copied from an idea that I saw on the Cricut Message Board. The original creator is Stampin Meg, you can see her card here. Thanks for the great idea! I did this card for a blank card theme. I used the Home accents cartridge for the butterfly.

Get well card

This card I used a card "recipe" from the magazine "Joy of card making." It has pockets and you sew up the sides on your sewing machine. It was a lot of fun to make. I did this card while I was pregnant with Chloe, so a few years ago. It is still one of my favorites. It took a bit longer, but, I just did it in steps. I love this card.

Thank U card

This card was inspired by a card my friend Tiffany did at card club. She was sweet enough to let me borrow her stamp set. Underneath the U (on the yellow) there are flowers that are heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The ribbon is sheer ivory and silver cording.

Halloween Card or Invite

This is a really quick and easy card for Halloween. I used my cuttlebug and embossed the front with "Haunted House" embossing folder. Then inked the front with black ink and chalked the moon and windows. I was inspired by Susan at Heartprints.net...you can find hers
here. I love her cards, she always has great ideas!

Halloween Vinyl Lettering Sign

I was having too much fun with my cricut yesterday. I found some shiny orange vinyl at Roberts and I just knew what I wanted to do with it. I made this sign and put it on our front window. I used the Opposites Attract, Cuttin up and Paper Doll cartridges.

Note: If you look close the sun is hitting the "ween" and you can see it sparkle!!

I also cut this skeleton from the Paper Doll cartridge. I used white vinyl and a black sharpie. It is on our front storm door. Cute huh?! It is about 23-24 inches tall.

Football Pep Rally Treat Ideas

This is what I came up with for the pep rally treat tonight. Our team is undefeated and I thought this went well. On the back I have the info for the game time and place. I found a lot of ideas here. I wanted to also get "crush" pop and put CRUSH Bingham!! But, they don't sell crush in smaller individual containers anymore :(...just 2 liter bottles. There are 21 boys on Dallin's team..so, I just stuck with this! Good for the boys too! :)

This is one of the cutest football rally treats I have ever seen, and NO..I did not come up with this. One of the mom's on Dallin's team did. Isn't it awesome. Just click on it to make it larger and you can read what she wrote. Very creative!!

New saying for the wall - Find joy in the journey!

I love this saying. It is taken from a talk from our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. The minute I heard him say this in General Conference, I knew that I wanted to put the saying up in my home somewhere. Mission Accomplished :)! May each of us find joy in whatever journey we are on!
Note: I used the Stone script and Home accents cartridges for the cricut

Papa's 80th Birthday

We just celebrated Papa's 80th birthday and as part of that celebration we were to create a few pages for a book. These are the pages I did for my family. It was a lot of fun. I haven't done any scrapbooking for some time. I cut out the family using my cricut and the Home accents cartridge. I used the cuttlebug embossing Dots folder on the tag holder and family picture. The cardstock and ribbon are from Stampin' up. I love the saying about grandpa's.It fits our Papa perfectly! It says:
"A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart."
