Wedding Sign-in book

These last few weeks have been so busy...but, so much fun. I created a wedding sign-in book for my neice, but forgot to take pictures. It turned out great. Her colors were plum, sage green and black and silver. My brother was getting married a week after her and so I thought it would be fun to create one for them. Their colors were coral and peach. I had it at the luncheon and everyone was able to sign it. You can just click on the picture to see it larger. Special thanks to my sister Shari that stayed up with me to help me create and adhere!!! :)

Families are Forever

This project was inspired by my sister, Laurel. She had an idea and together we accomplished it. She found the wood board at wood connection in Utah and then she painted it black, sanded it and stained it. Then we added the vinyl. It was a gift for my brother that just got married last weekend. They loved it! Good job Laurel!!

Teacher Appreciation Door 2009 - TREASURE THEME

This year our Elementary chose HOLLYWOOD WEEK for a theme and so I went along those lines with the movie National Treasure. I decorated the door and said, "Mrs. AUlt is our NATIONAL TREASURE." On the door I copied The Declaration of Independence onto cream cardstock and then I wadded the paper up into a ball a few time , burnt the edges and chalked and inked it. For the all seeing eye and torch, I printed those off of the internet and added chalk, glitter and clear, liquid dimensional embellishment called glossy Accents. Then I put together a scrapbook that contained pictures of the class, a sheet filled out by all the students... The top 10 things I TREASURE about Mrs. Ault and also a thank you note from the parents. Then I found a small treasure chest and made a satin pillow and filled it with gold dollar presidential coins. I just picked them up at a local credit union. Here are some pictures of what it looked like. Just click on the picture to see it larger. :)











I also included some of her favorite quotes in the book, such as "To teach is to touch a life forever."

Teacher Appreciation Gift

I found a wonderful idea for a teacher gift here. This is what we gave to her for "Wonderful Words Wednesday." I got the board from Roberts crafts. Next time I will just have my husband cut them out. :) I used the Alphalicious and Stone Script cartridges. And light tan paint. Just click on the picture to get a closer look.

Glass Etching - First Try

My husband and I had seen a commercial using the cricut and glass etching cream and so we decided to get some and try it. Today was my first attempt and it was a quick and easy project. Here are some simple steps to try.

1. Cut out a design on the cricut. Now I just cut it out normal not reversed, so if you look at the bottom of my pan it reads TYCKSEN. If you look from the top it is backwards. So, that just is something I will try different next time. You will need to reverse and FLIP the letters. :)

2. Place stencil you just made from the cricut onto the glass. I found that using transfer tape, helped it go quicker.

3. Brush on etching cream according to directions, which is brush it on left to right and top to bottom, be careful not to get etching cream anywhere else...besides your stencil.

4. Let sit 3-5 minutes and wash off with tap water. Thouroughly wash off all the cream.

5. Peel off vinyl and clean with glass cleaner. When it gets wet it looks like it did not work, but, it quickly dries....and there you go. I have included a few pics.

I bought the cream at Roberts. You can find it at any craft store.
Note: I have read that you can also use contact paper for stencils.

Bridal Shower Gift - bed tray using vinyl lettering

I think it is fun to give a gift that you normally wouldn't buy, hence, the bed tray. I have given them often, but, this is the first one with vinyl lettering. I love the saying, "We don't remember days, we remember moments." My sisters and I were putting together a basket of goodies for a kitchen shower for our sweet new sister-in-law to be. So, we grabbed a cute basket and added hot pads, a muffin tin, muffin mixes, a candle warmer and scents , lotsa tissue paper and a fun picture of the happy couple. It turned out great! Thanks to my sisters for their help. :)

This is a first for me and it was very fun. Laurie from TIP JUNKIE was featuring teacher appreciation doors and mine was on there. You can find her posthere. You can see my original post here. I didn't even have to submit anything...she found me. What a small world. Anyway, I love her little button above that says, "I was featured." What an unexpected surprise. Thanks Laurie!!

LOVE block

My friend Robyn came up with this design and even cut out the wood :). She is so creative. The only thing I changed was I added some hearts on the front. I haven't painted anything for awhile and this was quite fun and simple. My kids even wanted to help and so they painted a little. Calligraphy cartridge was used for the LOVE.

Birthday Party Invites

Birthday invites are always fun and definately a lot quicker with the "Wild Card" cartridge. The first one was made for a birthday that had a Wii theme.It is meant to resemble a Wii wheel. I cut the circle card from using the wild card cartridge and then I cut the blus circle and the Wii from vinyl. For the circle I used the George cartridge.

The second one is much more bright. The colors are lime green and deep hot pink. I stamped the "You're invited" with white versamark and the used lime green embossing powder and heat embossed it. I also inked around the edges of the white cardstock and heat embossed those edges also in green embossing powder. Just click on the picture to get a closer look :). I used the "wild card" cricut cartridge on both invites. Can I just say I LOVE the wild card cartridge. It is perfect for quick cards, and it also has the envelope to match! I LOVE IT!!!!

Fun Get well card

This is a card I made for my daughters birthday party a few years ago and then I thought it would make a cute get well card. I made the ladybug by punching out 2 - 1 1/2 " circles (one black and one red). Cut the red cirle almost in half, pull it apart slightly and add to the black circle. Add brads for spots.

Note: I don't know why it looks a little blurry by the words, if you click on it you can see it better and it is clear :)

Thank you cards

These colors and patterns of these cards were inspired by a card my by amazing and talented friend, Natalie. She makes the most beautiful cards and I loved the colors so much...I made some different cards with her color scheme. Thanks Natalie...you are the best!

Happy Birthday

These cards were simple to make. I actually did about 6 colors in all, but only have pictures of 3. I used my cuttlebug and the happy birthday embossing folder. Inked the cards and added ribbon. I also did white cards inked and accented in orange, lime green and torquoise blue.
Note: I lined up the square for the present to match the background.

Princess Birthday Invite

I have not made cards for awhile, so this was especially fun. I made these for my 4 yr olds Princess Tea Party. I used the Wild Card cartridge...which is wonderful, cuts out the invite and the envelope. I embossed the invite with the cuttlebug folder Princesses. I used violet ink and inked all the edges and then tied the envelope shut with ribbon. I love purple and so does my 4 yr old.

Great saying!

THis is one of my friends favorite sayings...so I put it on a tile for her. I used the stone script and plantin schoolbook cartridges.

Baptism frame w/vinyl lettering

We just had a baptism and I added some vinyl lettering to a white mat (that came with the frame). I really like how it turned out. I used two of my favorite cartridges: stone script and home accents. I got this idea from my dear friend Janae, she had seen something similar done. Thanks Janae!

Name tile

I helped a friend make some gifts for her family...they turned out good. I used the plantin schoolbook, jasmine and home accents cartridges.

Dress-up box

I made a quick and fun dress-up box with a plastic container and some vinyl lettering. It doesn't show it, but I put castles on the side. I used the stone script, paper dolls and alphalicious cartridges.

Find Joy in the Journey - Tile saying

I made this for my sister in law for Christmas. I love this saying. I enjoyed the talk that was given by our prophet, President Monson. You can find the talk here.
